1. Purpose

BabyMap is a community app for listing and sharing places suited to babies and young children in France.

2. Access to the app

BabyMap is free to use. Registration requires a valid email address and a password, or a Google account.

3. User content

By submitting a place or a comment, you certify that the information is accurate and not misleading. BabyMap reserves the right to moderate and remove any inappropriate content.

During the contest, posting reviews may have allowed users to enter, with no condition on content or rating. Rules here.

4. Liability

BabyMap does not guarantee the accuracy of information submitted by users. Information is provided for guidance only.

5. Intellectual property

The content of the app (design, logo, name) is the exclusive property of its publisher.

6. Personal data

The data collected by the app and your rights are described in the privacy policy. You can delete your account from the app or by following this page.

BabyMap is an app that helps parents find baby-friendly places. This page explains what data the app uses, why, with whom, and how to exercise your rights.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. The data we collect

Your account

• your email address and password (the password is managed by Google Firebase: we cannot read it);
• if you use "Continue with Google": the email address of your Google account, plus the basic information Google sends at sign-in (name and profile picture), which the app does not use;
• your username, your city of residence and the app language;
• your children's ages, if you choose to enter them (never their names);
• your level in the app and the number of places you have suggested.

Your contributions

• the places you suggest and the reviews you post (rating and comment);
• the parent groups you suggest, with your account email address, so that we can get back to you.

Your location, only if you allow it

• it is used to centre the map and to show the weather and nearby places;
• for the weather, a rounded location (to about one kilometre) is sent to OpenWeatherMap;
• when you search for a venue to add, your location is sent to Google so that nearby results are suggested first;
• BabyMap never stores it. You can refuse or withdraw permission at any time: the app then uses the city on your account.

Your searches

• the text you type in searches (city, place, venue) is sent to Google to show suggestions.

Technical data

• crash reports, to fix bugs (Firebase Crashlytics);
• anonymous usage statistics: app opens, screens viewed, phone model (Firebase Analytics);
• a technical identifier specific to the app installation.

We do not use your phone's advertising identifier, nor advertising, nor advertising cookies. We do not access your contacts, photos or files.

3. What other users can see

Your username appears next to the reviews you post. The places you suggest and your reviews are visible to all users of the app. Your email address, your city and your children's ages are never shown to others.

4. Why we use this data

Your data is never sold and is never used for advertising.

5. Our service providers

We do not share your data with third parties for their own use. It is processed on our behalf by:

• Google (Firebase: accounts, database, crash reports, statistics; Google Maps and Places: map, searches and place suggestions);
• OpenWeatherMap (OpenWeather Ltd, United Kingdom): weather, based on a rounded location.

The app's database is hosted by Google Firebase in Europe. Some Google and OpenWeatherMap services may process data outside the European Union; these transfers are covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses).

6. How long we keep it

• Account and profile: as long as your account exists.
• Places and reviews: they remain visible after your account is deleted, but without your username and without anything that could identify you.
• Crash reports: 90 days.
• Usage statistics: 2 months.
• Location and searches: never kept by BabyMap.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can access your data, correct it, delete it, request a copy, or object to certain processing.

• Change your children's ages or the language: in the Profile tab of the app. To correct your username or city: write to us.
• Delete your account: Profile → Delete my account, or without the app by following this page (request processed within 30 days).
• Any other request: babymap.contact@gmail.com.

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).

8. Children

BabyMap is intended for parents, and therefore adults. We do not collect any data about the children themselves, other than their age if you choose to enter it.

9. Changes

We will update this page if the app changes the way it uses your data. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.

Personal data

This website uses no advertising cookies and no audience-tracking tools. Information sent through the partner form is used only to process the application. To exercise your rights of access, correction or deletion, write to babymap.contact@gmail.com. See also our privacy policy.

From the app

Profile tab → Delete my account. Deletion is immediate.

Without the app

Email babymap.contact@gmail.com from the email address of your BabyMap account, with the subject "Account deletion". We process the request within 30 days and confirm the deletion by email.

What is deleted

Your account and profile: your username, email address, city, your children's ages, your language and your level.

What is kept, with no link to you

Places you suggested and reviews you posted remain visible to other parents, but without your username and without anything that could identify you.

Technical data

Anonymous crash reports are automatically deleted after 90 days, and usage statistics after 2 months.
